All certified Joint Health and Safety Committee members are required to take refresher training every 3 years in order to maintain “certification” status. Certified JHSC members who became certified after March 1, 2016, are required to complete JHSC Refresher Training every three years to maintain their certification.

This one-day workshop style course is designed to bring JHSC members up to date with the latest regulations and best practices. The course reminds JHSC members of their various duties and responsibilities under the OHSA.

The training course includes materials, videos and case studies that will prove helpful for committee members.

• Rights, duties, and responsibilities of certified members and other workplace parties

• Evaluating the health of the workplace IRS

• Hazards, how to evaluate those hazards and make recommendations

• Discuss and create action plans

• How to improve the effectiveness of your JHSC

• Discuss best practices with JHSC members from other workplaces

• Updates to legislation, standards, codes of practice, and occupational health hand safety best practices
