Lawn mowers are used in residential and commercial establishments. People of all ages use them. Because they are common, their hazards are often overlooked or minimized. Most injuries are the result of parts of the body-hand and feet coming in contact with the lawn mower blade – which can result in the loss of a hand, fingers or toes. Foreign objects can be thrown by the lawn mower blades causing lacerations, or loss of sight if the person is struck in the eye. These types of accidents are avoidable and are due to operator inexperience, failure to wear the proper PPE, or inattentive or improper handling of the lawn mower.
This training is valuable for anyone who will be using a lawn mower either at home, at a summer job or in the workplace and is especially beneficial to new, young or inexperienced workers. This training is specific to the push type of mower.
